CTD prepares initial report of traffic police sub-inspector's murder

Officer said, new trained group has entered area but soon culprits will be taken into custody.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – An initial report of traffic police sub-inspector Rafeeque’s murder in Sohrab Goth, Ahsanabad has been prepared, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) informed on Thursday.

SSP Malir Shahzad Nazeer reported that investigation team has found 18 bullet shells of 9MM pistol from the crime scene.

CTD officer said the suspects were wearing masks on their faces therefore, they could not be identified yet however, investigation is underway.

The officer added that a new trained group has entered the area that targets on duty officers but soon the culprits will be taken into custody.

The son of the martyred sub-inspector also requested Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, to make the accused accountable.

On Wednesday, a sub-inspector was martyred in firing by unknown suspects near Ahsanabad police check post.

The traffic police officer was on duty at the check post when two unidentified gunmen appeared on a motorcycle, opened fire on him and sped away.

The injured cop was shifted to a hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

The same case of target killing had happened on January 2018, when a police officer ‘Shakir’ was shot dead by unidentified men in West Zone Karachi.
